Mother's Day

I got to spend Mother's Day with my Grandma Doris, Matt, and the kids.  In the morning the kids brought me some of my favorite candies.  Matt said to them; "what do you say to mommy?" Lyla very hesitantly/quietly says "happy lunch."  Love that part.... then Lincoln says, "happy mother's day!"  I told them I was going to have to share my candy with them to which they replied, "good!"  Think were hoping for this!:)
We went out to eat two times, Freddies for lunch, and Red Lobster for supper since it was Grandma's birthday and that is one of her favorite restaurants.  It was GREAT day!

I also recorded them singing a song, "I Love Grandma," that we sent to my mom and Matt's mom:

Don't Worry Mom

The kids were playing in the backyard. When I went out to check on them they excitedly told me; "mom, we found a mouse!"  They must have seen my horrified expression because Lincoln hurriedly went on to say, "don't worry mom, it was a dead mouse... AND I threw it over the fence!"  Rushing him to the sink to wash his hands, I asked Lyla, "did you touch it too?"  She said "yea, Lincoln said it was OK."   JUST GREAT!
We went over to the neighbors backyard and sure enough, it was a dead mouse. Then we washed hands some more!

Where do you live? and "I like Lincoln soooo much!"

The kids were playing store in our living room. Lincoln/cashier, Lyla/customer.

Lincoln::  Where do  you live?

Lyla:: huh??? I live at my house. (duh tone)

Lincoln: Yea but...where’s the way?

Lyla: It’s that way. (pointing in a random direction)

Lincoln: OK. (enough explanation for him!)

2) My kids seems to be getting along really well these days. I try not to take it for granted because I know it won't always be this easy! It has almost been bad for me though, because I sort of feel not needed around the house anymore. Like it's too easy or something! I know, this sounds annoying...not complaining anymore!:-)
So the story is... Lyla was upset because Lincoln could not go to the mother daughter banquet at my mom's church with her and I.   She kept telling me, “But I want Lincoln to come, I like Lincoln sooo much!”  She cried when we dropped him off with Grandpa Doug, saying, “I’m just sad.”
I finally had to start asking her about what kind of dessert she thought we would have at the banquet to get her mind off her sorrows.:)

Lyla's Birthday

Lyla turned three a few weeks ago.  Cant believe how time flies!  She had requested a princess cake with a Belle doll ever since her cousin Brooklyn had a princess cake for her birthday in March.  We played a game where Lincoln was a dragon, and we had to find his magic dinosaur eggs to save princess Lyla.  The last picture is of her sleeping with her purse that she when she opened she said "my favorite purse I wanted!"

Tornado Scare

We had a pretty serious tornado threat awhile ago.  I usually am not too worried about tornado warnings around here, but they had predicted these tornadoes for like 3 days and I think there was like a 90% chance.  When I heard the weatherman say it was headed to Bel Aire, we went and woke the kids up and bought them down to the basement. Lincoln stayed asleep for awhile until Lyla finally woke him up as she was wide awake because she hadn't fallen asleep yet.  I think they thought it was pretty fun with the snacks, (ready in case of disaster), coloring books/colors, and stories.  When it was all clear to go back to bed Lyla said, "ahh...but I wanted there to be a tornado!"
