sleeping with the light on

Lincoln has been sleeping with his lamp on for the last month or so.  I will often wake up in the middle of the night to a very bright light from across the hall.  I have learned that I can usually get away with turning if off as long as I do it quietly.  If I happen to wake him up, he cries and says he is scared and wants to leave it on.  I guess as long as he can fall asleep I don't care that he has the light on, I am just shocked he can sleep so well since it is so bright!  He definetely has inherited what I call the Schroeder sleeping skills!

Lincoln Logs

Here are a couple pics of what Lincoln has made this past week in his room during "rest time."  I was pretty impressed since I had never seen him make anything close to them before.  Not sure if I didnt notice, or if he just took the time to build with them longer since he had to be in his room anyway.
I was originally just taking a picture of Lincoln, but Lyla yelled "me!" and ran over to be in it when she saw us!

Counting to 10

The kids' current favorite game is hide and seek.  They started out playing wiith Matt, but will play by themselves alot now.  I didn't even know Lyla could count to ten until I heard her playing one day.  She will count and then say, "ready, not, go!"  It amazes me how fun they think this is since they both hide in plain sight!  Most of the time Lincoln will yell "hello!" about 1 minute after Lyla gets to ten and starts looking.

Sunglasses

I gave Lyla her sunglasses to wear outside one day, so of course Lincoln wanted to wear his even though he hasn't ever wanted to for over a year!
They both wore them while we walked to the park and then quickly ditched them on the bench for me to keep track of. They do seem to like wearing them in the car as they both hate the sun in their eyes...so much like their Dad!  I guess Lyla did wear them at the zoo earlier that day for awhile too so I suppose it was not a complete waste of money. And yes, they do look pretty cute with them on so I guess that makes them worth it for sure! LOL

Dancing

I hurried and got my camera when I saw Lyla dancing like this; of course she stopped as soon as she saw me recording her! I realize I may be stretching this a little, but she almost looked as if she had the step/touch step going. Maybe I am just hoping she escapes inheriting my two left feet...
She also often dances to her dollhouse van music. She will say "more" and run over and push the horn to start it. This is the first time I got her hair up in a ponytail. I liked it, but haven't done it again because I thought it made her look so old!
