Pudding

I let the kids use the mixer to make chocolate pudding.  This is the first time I have let them both help me make something so I picked something simple!  Lincoln proudly told Matt later; "Lyla and me made chocolate pudding, and mommy didn't help!"

Library and Stickers

At the Park City Library for storytime.

I let Lyla put stickers on her sticker chart while she sits on the toilet.  She was in there much longer then usual this aftenoon before i heard her yell "done!"  I was starting to wonder what on earth she was doing (hoping she might be attempting the #2 which has not happened on the toilet yet).  No such luck... found her like this.  Guess this explains why I was finding little stickers stuck to her clothes!

Valentines Day

Matt and I actually hired a babysiter and went out to Olive Garden this year.  I think it was the first time we went on the actual day since weve had kids!  The kids of course loved their Valentine gifts.  They were fascinated with the pixi sticks...not sure if that is what they are called.

Messy hands from licking the frosting off the cookies!

Sledding

We took the kids sledding at Sedgwick Park Saturday.  I wasn't sure it would work when I saw how much snow was left, but it ended up being pretty fun.  It was nice no one else was there, and the kids actually enjoyed being outside since it was warmer.  This was Lincoln's first time sledding down a hill, and as you can tell he loved it!

Lyla didn't make a sound the first few times, so we didn't know if she liked it or not.  Then when we told her we were going to go home and eat lunch, she asked to go again.  I really don't know of anything that she has chosen to do over eating lunch, so she must have liked it pretty well!  (Matt did tell me that she said "lunch" as soon as the sled stopped at the bottom of the hill:).

Burger King with Great-Grandma Doris

The kids love going place to eat with Great-Grandma Doris. They especially liked this trip to Burger King since they got to play on the playplace and get these crowns. Lincoln prays for Grandma almost daily now, since I suggested we pray for her a couple months ago when she first moved here. He now usually says something like, "help Grandma be OK," or "help Grandma

to not be sad." One day at lunch he was praying and then paused a bit before saying, "I suppose Grandma is sleeping now...amen".   Sort of cracked me up, but it was very sweet too!

ham n cheese

Last week we were driving home and I said we were going to eat lunch when we got home. Lyla usually just starts yelling "lunch!" repeatedly until we actually start eating, but this time I heard very clearly what she wanted, "ham n...cheese!" She always says this with a pause before the cheese, and has requested it for lunch and "hupper" often.

"happy happy"

About a month ago Lyla started "reading" books. Sometimes she will actually say things that go with the story, but alot of the time she will point to the words and say "happy, happy!" I still have not figured out where she got this, or what she is really thinking when she says it!

Momma, Dadda, Bubba, Wywa

Lyla likes to to help me unload the dishes.  She takes them out and puts them on the counter. As she pulls one out she will say, "momma," then will pull another out saying, "Dadda," then "Bubba," and "Wywa," ect.

She is in her underwear, "undies" (found out she does not like me calling them panties), because we were working on potty training that day!  We worked on that for 3 days while Lincoln was gone, during which I pretty much never really left her side!  By the end of the week I got brave enough to let her play by herself, and she does pretty well now as long as I remember to take her.  She is pretty willing to try because she is very motivated by the raisin (for trying) and cookie bite (for success)!

Visit from Gp and Gm Schroeder

Gp and Gm came to visit for a weekend.  The kids got to play bingo with skittles.  Lyla was super excited when after playing a round she heard she could eat her game pieces!  On Sunday Lincoln and Brooklyn went home with them.  I enjoyed having some one on one time with Lyla for a couple days, and we even got a good start on potty training!  Matt met Pam on Thursdsay to get them, and it sounds like they had a great time.  Lincoln told me they went to the "F" place where they had a play place...found out this meant Pam had looked up the McDonalds on the internet, and the one that had a playplace was labeled "F" on the map!
