Silver Dollar City

We went to Silver Dollar City after everyone else went home.  This was one of my favorite places to visit as a kid, and I think I liked it just as much as an adult, if not more!
We went on this ride alot!  I think it and the frog ride were definitely the favorites.  These were especially cool because you could push a button to make them go up.  I had to laugh at Matt when I saw him so squished in the back!

Getting measured to see which rides he could go on.  Apparantly he was 1/8 of an inch away from getting a blue wrist band instead of green.  The blue wrist band could have got him on some pretty fast rides that he would have opted out of anyway.  The first day he really only went on the rides that Lyla could go on, feeling like big stuff because he could go by himself.  The second day he did venture to a few others, but mostly he would look at the rides, and say, "that's too fast, maybe when I am four."  One time he looked at me and said, "How old are you?" I told him, and then he said, "maybe I will ride that when I am twenty-eight."

Lincoln and I on the little roller coaster.  Matt did convince him to try out this one , but it wasn't one of his favorites as he only went on it twice.

This playplace was a hit with both kids.

Going to ride the train.

Walking into the flooded mine.  This was alot of fun since we all got to ride in a boat together.  Matt and Lincoln especially enjoyed the guns.  There were targets along the way that you got to shoot at, and it recorded how many you got.  Matt was trying to tell me he got one thousand and something.  I got twenty-four and Lincoln got twelve. hmm...

We heard alot of "me ride frogs!"  It was a good thing I liked them, because Lincoln wanted to go on these as much as Lyla!

Lincoln and I shared a turkey leg.  It was huge!

American Plunge-possibly my favorite ride.  I was the only one to brave the water that day.  I had taken Lincoln on a water ride the day before, and it was probably my worst mom moment ever.  He looked up at me crying because he didn't want to get wet.  We had just gone over the first rapid in the "Lost River," and had many more to go...  I felt bad because knowing how much he even hates getting wet in the bathtub at home, I had taken him with me even after hearing that you get "bathtub wet."  Not sure why that didn't sink in, or that i didn't remember getting as wet as we did!  He was a good sport though, and after we took his wet shirt off and let him wear his coat, he dried off fairly quick.  All he really said was that he didn't want to go on any water rides anymore.:)  The next day he was of course telling me he wanted to go on the water rides that I went on.   And no, I did not take him on any!

You had to pull a rope to get to the top. Lincoln liked "helping."

Everyone loved shooting these balls!

More frogs...

On the way out after the second day of no nap.  We had stayed to watch half of the evening show, and she finally couldn't fight it anymore!
Riding the tram back to our car.  She didn't really wake up even when we layed her in bed at the motel.  I was  surprised she was so calm, especially because it was only her second night sleeping in a big bed.  (we decided to push some chairs against the motel bed and let her sleep with me since the pack n play provided was yucky!)

Branson

We went to Branson last week and stayed at a house with all my family.  Despite some chilly weather we had a great time playing games, visiting a fish hatchery, playing minature golf, and celebrating Grandma Doris' and  Lyla's birthdays.

I married a big kid.  Only Matt could make a gift shop super fun!

Found out Lyla likes lemons.  Don't know how she can stand to eat them!

This fooseball table was a big hit.  There was also a pool table so Justin gave me a lesson since I had never played before.

Catching Up

If you ask Lyla what she wants to do these days, she will say, "play Un!" (oon)
At the zoo for an Easter Egg hunt.  They were scared of  the easter bunny and did not want to stand near it!
.

Easter with Grandpa Doug and Grandma Brenda
Easter egg hunt!

Lyla ate the candy right away after finding each egg!

At Matt's Uncle Mark and Aunt Kim's house after his Grandma Ball's funeral

The kids LOVED jumping and running on the haybills

Celebrating Lyla's birthday at Uncle Mark's.  She got  pretty good at getting more food while we were there .  She would walk up to people she didn't even know, give them her sad eyes, and in a pitiful voice say, "still hungry."  I have to admit it would be very hard to resist!

Lincoln and Matt at the Bel Aire Rec Center at an intro to sports class for 3 year olds.  He  laughed alot through the  first session so he must have been having alot of fun!
Mother's Day banquet at my mom's church

Happy Mother's Day!  I am very blessed!
