Success!
It was an unbelievable 67 degrees today! We took advantage of the nice weather and got out the bikes. I was expecting to have to push both him and Lyla, (she was riding the hot wheels) but was pleasantly surprised when Lincoln got more then a few feet pedaling himself! Within a couple minutes he had pedaled down the street and back all by himself!

Sick!
Anyway, it was definitely a strange Christmas, but we made the best of it. I had alot of fun playing games, and since we were the first ones sick, our family was well in time to go to Grandpa and Grandma Schroeders Christmas, as well as the Flesner Christmas. Not true for eveyone else..I obviously felt very bad about this!

A not so merry Christmas
"Santa and A Clown"
I took the kids to see Santa at the Park City Library. They were taking pictures for free, and I didn't think at least Lincoln would have a problem sitting on Santa's lap. Boy was I wrong! They were both terrified, and refused to go near Santa and his elf, what Lincoln later called "Santa and a clown." In the end, they agreed to sit down with me on the floor for a picture, a safe distance in front of Santa. Great picture isn't it? The funny thing is, Lincoln keeps asking to see this. He calls it "my picture," and when he looks at it, he smiles and says, "ah...that's nice." He obviously feels no shame for the nose-picking!
"Licks"
Matt and I were downstairs when we heard Lyla cry out in her usual way that meant Lincoln had been pestering her. I yelled, "Lincoln, what is wrong with Lyla?!" With a half eaten sucker in his hand, he calmly explained, "well...Lyla wanted a lick of my sucker, so I gave her one. Now she is done with licks." (Meaning, she wanted more and he was done sharing!) I just get a kick out of the way he explains things sometimes!
This reminds me of a couple of weeks ago when Lincoln was sitting at the kitchen table eating a candy cane. When Matt and I walked in, we saw Lyla standing tiptoed on the floor right by Lincoln's chair, looking up at him. She had her back to us, but when we looked closer, we saw she was straining her neck with her tounge out as far as she could to try and get a lick of the bottom of his candy cane! I think she got several tastes in before he figured out what she was doing.!:)
